Sandblasting

Sandblasting can be used to etch smooth surfaces, allowing the new coating system to adhere effectively upon application. This method is also used to remove previous coating systems, rust, mil scale, and any other contaminants from a surface prior to coating. We offer mobile sandblasting to cover all your onsite surface preparation needs as well as sand blasting at our shop facility located at 2030 Liberty Expressway S.E., Albany, Georgia 31705.

Hydro-Blasting

Hydro blasting can be used just like sand blasting to remove dirt, oil, previous coating systems and other unwanted residue from surfaces. This method can be used in circumstances where sand waste is not desired. SIC has two 20,000 PSI portable hydro-blasting units and can come directly to you. Clogged pipes and lines shutting your facility down? No problem! We are on call 24 hours a day for emergency services.

Confined Space Work

Confined space work is often part of maintaining an industrial facility. While being in business for over 20 years, our crew members have safely performed numerous confined space projects. We work alongside a confined space rescue team to ensure proper monitoring which is performed for the duration of the project and to assure our clients that a team of trained rescue services personnel are on-site with proper rescue equipment during a planned confined space entry.

Powdercoating

We start all of our powder coating projects off with a clean, properly prepped surface. This will ensure the most durable and high quality finish upon completion. With our powder coating services, you get one of the longest lasting and most UV stable finishes available. Powder coating offers high resistance to abrasion, scratching, fading, and tends to provide a longer lifespan than most standard liquid coating systems. Each piece can have its own unique finish with this coating option. Thousands of color options are available!

Structural Steel Painting

Whether the steel is outside exposed to the elements or inside and exposed to chemicals and a corrosive environment, we can give you a coating system that will protect the steel from further damage under these conditions and lengthen the lifespan of the structure. With our highly trained coating applicators working alongside multiple coating manufacturers/coating reps, we are able to evaluate any coating project that you may have at your facility while providing a written spec and assuring our clients that the proper coating systems are in place to better protect your equipment/structures.

Floor Coatings

We offer a wide variety of floor coating options. Urethane concretes with excellent impact/abrasion resistance, chemical resistant coatings to protect against highly corrosive environments, slip resistant coatings for areas with safety concerns and potential slip hazards, and decorative floor systems where decorative flake and metallic can be added for that eye-catching appeal. These floor systems offer durability and versatility, while being easy to clean and maintain.

The Story

Southern Industrial Coatings is a family owned business located in Albany, Ga.

Our company was founded in 1998 by the late Dale Hellemn and has since been handed down to his son Travis Hellemn to follow in his father's footsteps.

As a licensed industrial contractor, we provide our clients with the best coating systems available. From start to finish, prep work, to completed project we assure nothing short of the best quality around while keeping safety in mind.

Our crew members go through strenuous training and participate in random drug tests as well as background checks.

Our company is active with AVETTA, ISNet World, and EVERIFY.
